In the first 6 months of his term, Governor Tarcísio de Freitas already has 200 billion in scheduled private investments, a record number of new companies created, and 240 thousand new jobs.

Leading the State of São Paulo for 6 months now, Governor Tarcísio de Freitas is promoting a series of advancements through a pro-market agenda that has attracted over R$ 190 billion in private investments, thanks to the «State of São Paulo Investment Partnerships Program» (PPI-SP).
Reflecting on the first 180 days of his administration, Tarcísio de Freitas considers that since «day one» of his term, his technical team «has been dedicated to decisions that immediately incentivize productive economic sectors and job creation». «We must celebrate each victory, every step taken in these first 6 months», stated the Governor during an event that marked the first major review of his leadership in the State.
Among the major projects unlocked by the current administration is the northern stretch of RodoAnel, a 176-kilometer highway that encircles the entire metropolitan region of São Paulo, the State’s capital. Paralyzed for over 10 years, the auction for the completion of the works and commercial concession of the northern stretch, ― the only section that was still partially operational ―, depended solely on an executive decision, which Tarcísio de Freitas made in January, his first month in office. The auction was successfully held in March and is considered a triumph by experts in public management.
Driven by the Agriculture, Industry, Technology, and Innovation Sectors, the State’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rose by 1.5% from January to April, compared to the same period in 2022, leading to another significant economic performance indicator: the creation of over 240,000 formal job positions.
Regarding the business environment, São Paulo achieved its best result in 26 years in the first semester, with over 150,000 new companies established and a positive balance of more than 89,000 registrations for new business types.
Scientific Research
Another essential indicator is the reinforcement of investments in top-tier public universities, with a strong emphasis on scientific research. In 2023, the renowned universities received R$ 16.7 billion in funding from the Government of São Paulo, including the University of São Paulo (USP), considered the best university in Latin America according to the QS World Ranking.
